Truck Drivin’ Hero Page 4

Hero parked his truck in the back of the parking lot, taking up an extra spot so no one would ding Alexandria. The sun had gone down hours ago and half the lot was still empty, so he didn’t feel bad about taking up the space.
“This where we’re staying tonight? A Motel Six in Toledo, Ohio?” Hero asked.
“You’re staying here. I’ll be going,” Hutch said.
“You’re not coming with us to Teaneck?”
“I can’t get any closer to the coast or I risk capture. I have someone coming to pick me up here. You and Sally will have to make the rest of the journey on your own. She knows the way,” Hutch said.
Hero stuck out his hand. “Well, good luck to you.”
Hutch shook his hand fiercely. “Good luck to you, too, battle buddy.” He opened the door and, at a brisk jog, ran around the side of the building to disappear into the night. Hero figured it’d be a long time before he saw Hutch again.
Hero locked up his truck and went to Speedy’s car, but found it already empty. He could see her talking to the man at the front desk, so he hurried inside.
“But I can leave you with a deposit. And I promise we won’t watch any pay-per-view movies,” she was saying as he got inside.
“I’m sorry, but it’s a firm policy. You must have photo ID and credit card to get a room,” the elderly man at the counter said.
“Darlin’, what’s all the trouble?” Hero asked.
Speedy whirled around, looking like she had been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. It was clear that she was trying to get this done with before Hero came in, but he didn’t know why.
“Oh, hi. This guy was saying that we couldn’t get rooms without an ID and a credit card,” Speedy said.
“Well of course not, it says it right there on the wall!” Hero said, pointing to the sign. He turned back to the guy at the counter. “I told her that losing her purse would cause her more harm than she thought.”
The guy’s gaze went past Hero, to the purse hanging on Speedy’s arm.
Hero laughed, then pointed at it. “You like it? We got it at an Iowa truck stop, can you believe it? I swear I thought I was gonna have to go all the way to Dollywood to get her a purse that she’d like, but she found one right there on I-80.”
The guy smiled. “It’s nice. So do you have a credit card and ID?” he asked.
“Well of course I do. I don’t leave mine at a truck stop bathroom.” Hero fished out his wallet and gave the man his cards and the friendliest smile he had. “We’ll take a non-smoking room.”
“One room, Mr, uh, Reynolds? She came in asking for two,” the man said.
Hero turned to Speedy. “What, you’re that mad about last night? I said I was sorry!” He turned back to the man. “A couple like us should stay in one room, wouldn’t you say?”
“But two beds!” Speedy piped up. “He snores like a bandit and I need a good night’s rest.”
Hero sighed then shrugged his shoulders. “She’s right. And she never sleeps well on a new bed. Always tossin’ and turnin’. Better make it two beds.”
“Two beds it is. I have you in room 451. The elevator is on the right.”
“Thanks a lot. Oh, and that’s my rig parked in the back of your parking lot. I’ll have it out bright and early in the morning, so I’ll thank you not to have it towed or anything.”
The man looked out the window. “Big rig in the back, I’ll make a note of it. Can I help you with anything else?”
“Naw, you’ve been great, thanks. Come on, sweetheart.” He wrapped his arm around Speedy’s waist and whisked her toward the elevator.
“One room?” she asked when they reached the elevator.
“Come on, a young couple like us traveling together? It would have looked suspicious if we had gotten two rooms. Now they just think we’re married and on a trip together,” Hero explained.
“Great cover,” she said sarcastically.
“It’s the best cover we could have, especially because you’re apparently off the grid.”
She sighed. “Whenever Tim flashes some cash, people tend to look the other way when it comes to the rules. I guess I’m just not as convincing.”
“You’ll get it. It just takes time.” The elevator opened. “Let’s get some sleep.”
They made their way to their room. “I’ve still got engine grease on me from this morning, so I’m going to take first shower. Do you need to use the bathroom before I do?” Hero asked.
“Yes, please,” she said. Hero sat down in the chair and turned on the TV while he waited for her to finish. When she came out, she was wearing the same pink tank top, but had taken off her jean shorts. Now, she just had on a set of pale pink panties, frilly and lacy in the same way that her tank top was. They were clearly a matching set.
Hero didn’t mean to stare, but clearly he did. Speedy cleared her throat. “Shower’s all yours.”
That snapped him out of it. “Thank you kindly.”
He began to move to the shower when she said, “Hero?” He turned back, imagining that she’d be naked, welcoming him, begging him to join her. Instead, she had the covers pulled up to her neck. “Can you toss me the remote?”
He laughed and tossed her the remote. She immediately changed the channel to Racecar TV or some channel like that, watching a replay of a NASCAR race. He then turned and got in the shower.
He got the water nice and hot before getting in, taking off his clothes from the day and cursing himself for not bringing in his clean set of clothes from the truck. It seemed like he made a lot of bad decisions today, and that was one of the least of them.
He hadn’t thought very clearly ever since he saw her. Speedy, in those tiny jean shorts and cutoff tank top. Speedy, slamming on the gas pedal, wind racing through her hair. Speedy, now in nothing but that tiny shirt and panties. Speedy, maybe listening to him right now, thinking of joining him.
His cock was hard as a rock. He grabbed it briefly, wondering if he should jerk off. He hardly ever did, but it would make the rest of the night a lot easier. He began to think of Speedy, naked, writhing in those sheets, pleading with him for release…
He stopped touching himself. He was here on a job, not to fuck his ex-girlfriend, or even fantasize about her. He washed his hair with the terrible Motel Six shampoo, then dried himself off. He wrapped the towel around himself and walked out of the shower.
Speedy was there. Her eyes went to him, looking at his body covered in nothing but the too-small hotel towel, then darted away, embarrassed. She cleared her throat.
“Shower’s all yours,” he said.
She looked back at him, then looked away again. “I prefer to shower in the mornings.”
“Oh yeah. I forgot about that,” he said. With that, he dropped the towel and got on his bed, under the sheet. There was no hiding the fact that he still had a huge erection.
“Yeah. Well, I didn’t forget that you prefer to sleep in the nude,” she said.
“I don’t just prefer it, I insist upon it. What are you watching?” he asked.
“Nothing,” she said, turning off the TV. “We really should get to sleep. We have a long day of driving ahead of us.”
“I’m not really tired,” Hero told her. It was true. He had too many thoughts and memories floating around in his head to try and sleep.
“Well I am. Good night.” With that, she turned off the light between them.
Hero fumbled for the light. “Hey. I want to talk.”
She rolled over and looked at him. “About what?”
“About what you’ve been up to these past few years. About what I should expect during this mission. About what your plans are after this mission is over with,” Hero said.
“What I plan to do after this mission is whatever the Resistance tells me to do,” she said shortly, but not unkindly.
“Okay, that’s a start,” Hero said. It certainly wasn’t the answer he wanted, but it was at least a starting point. “What about the
last four years?”
“I’m not talking about it,” she said, rolling over to face the wall.
“I told you about my last four years.”
“So?”
“So? You have me at a disadvantage.” Hero softened his voice. “I just want to hear about your life.”
“Why do you want to know now?” She turned back over and faced him. She wasn’t crying, but her eyes were wet like she was getting close. “Four years ago, you left me. Told me you were a bad influence on me.”
“I’m beginning to think that I was wrong. Like I was the only thing tethering you to a somewhat normal life.”
“Why? Because I joined the Resistance? Because I became a part of something greater than myself?”
“Because your boyfriend and my ex-battle buddy admitted to killing a couple hundred aliens. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I have no idea what you’re going to use this little package for. He might be trying to turn it into a nuclear bomb,” Hero said.
“Shhh!” she said, bringing her finger to her lips. She listened, as if listening for someone to bust the door down just for mentioning a nuclear bomb. Then, she said softly, “He’s not my boyfriend.”
“Honey, if you want me to talk quieter, you better come on over here,” Hero said.
For a moment she looked like she was going to say “No way,” but then she nodded. “It was cold over here anyway. I think you got the better bed.” She threw off the sheet.
“I was sitting in a chair,” he reminded her. “You got to pick your bed.”
“Yeah, well you tricked me somehow,” she said. She slid her body up next to his, facing away from him. Hero let his arm fall naturally over her hips, and she relaxed against him. “Besides, it’s nice to snuggle. You’re warm.”
“I am warm.” There was another long pause. He took in a breath, smelling her sweet scent and nearly groaned. “So, why did you join the Resistance?”
She sighed. “You left me about a year before the aliens landed, and I didn’t seem to have a purpose. I didn’t want to go to college. I didn’t want to get a job. So I fell into street racing.”
He laughed. “I bet you eventually got good at it.”
“The best. I only wished I could have shown you how good I was instead of making an idiot out of myself those first couple races. Anyway, I made a lot of money. Mostly in Miami, some in Detroit, I might even have been in Los Angeles while you were there.”
“Uh huh,” he said. He remembered seeing a lot of street racers while he was there.
“Anyway, then the aliens landed, and they descended on all the urban centers pretty quick. Street racing was classified as gang activity, and gang activity is antisocial activity, so it was a quick trip to the re-education camps if you were caught. So I tried the next best thing. I actually applied to be a NASCAR racecar driver.”
“You’re kidding.”
“Nope. Tried to buy my own car and everything. Turns out that they want more of a history than street racing. They want a paper trail. That's awful rich coming from a group that started as bootleggers. I would have had to start in the minor leagues, and I didn’t want that. So I started drifting again.”
“Drifting, like, Tokyo Drift?”
“No, like just driving from town to town. Eventually, one of my street racer buddies told me that she had joined up with the Resistance, so I tagged along to see what it’s all about.”
“Does your buddy still like it in the Resistance?” Hero asked.
“I don’t know. She’s dead.” There was another deep silence. He could feel her body tremble slightly against his. “Why did you really leave me, Hero?”
Hero breathed in deeply, the scent of her shampoo still faintly on her hair even after all the miles driven. “I don’t know, Speedy. At the time, I saw you like a delicate flower. You were so young, so fresh, so full of life. And all I could see was that you were taking dumb risks just to impress me. I couldn’t have that on my conscience.”
“But you couldn’t stop me while we were together, so why did you think you could stop me while we were apart?” Speedy asked.
“I don't know. I see now that I put you on a pedestal, but now I regret ever pushing you away. I’m so sorry. I know that’s not enough, but-”
“Shhh. That’s all I wanted to hear.” She turned toward Hero and smiled. “I forgot how charming you could be.”
“I never forgot how sexy you could be,” Hero said.
Speedy leaned in and softly pressed her lips to Hero’s, a kiss that was more a question than anything else. Hero answered the question the only way he knew how; by opening his mouth and giving her a deep kiss that made her moan. They kissed like this for a few moments more before she broke from the kiss and looked at him seriously.
“Make love to me. Please,” she said. He nodded his head quickly, and she grinned before they both went in for another kiss. He moved his lips down her neck, savoring every taste of her skin. He had missed this.
He tilted her head back and kissed down her neck, moving down past her still-clothed breasts. He lifted her shirt to expose her beautiful belly button, admiring the way her slim frame curved into an hourglass shape beneath him.
Hero moved further down, lifting her butt with his hands as he pulled her panties down. She eagerly complied with every demand his hands made, and in another moment, her panties were off. Hero took the time to kiss each of her toes before kissing his way up her leg.
When he reached her inner thigh, Speedy put her hands on his head to stop him. “I mean, maybe you shouldn’t. I’ve been driving all day, and-”
Hero looked up at her. “Have you ever known that to stop me?” he asked.
She shook her head, then leaned back and relaxed further into the bed. Hero’s tongue reached her shaved sex, flicking at her clit gently. Then, he wrapped his arms around her slender legs and pressed his face into her pussy.
“Oh my god,” she moaned, putting her hands right back on Hero’s head. For a moment, she was trying to push him away, as if the sensation of him licking her was too intense. After another few moments, she relaxed, and used her hands to guide him to where it felt best. Hero licked up and down, left and right, until she began to tense up.
“Oh, Hero. I’m gonna come,” she whispered. Her body tensed, and Hero had to hold her steady as she bucked her hips up and down. Still, he kept that same pressure and tempo, tenderly massaging her flower with his tongue.
When she came down from her orgasm, he pulled away from her. “I need to fuck you,” he growled.
“Oh, God, yes,” she gasped.
He positioned himself between her legs and paused at the precipice. He gripped the sides of her waist and kissed her deeply as he pressed into her, causing her to moan into his mouth. In a moment, they were writhing against each other, feeling the familiar rhythm of each other’s bodies.
Hero moved down and kissed her deeply again, then put his hands behind her back and lifted her up. In a moment, he turned his body and rolled over, laying on his back. He still held her close as he pounded into her little body over and over again.
When he let go of her, she straightened up. She immediately took her cute pink tank top off, throwing it to the the floor before increasing her tempo. Hero’s hands went to her breasts, and he sat up to kiss those beautiful pink nipples. They kept like that, writhing against each other for a moment, before she pushed him back down. When he was all the way down, she moved her hand to her clit as Hero’s hands gripped her hips tightly, guiding her movements back and forth. Her jaw dropped, and she put her other hand on Hero’s chest, bracing herself for the wave of pleasure that was about to hit her body. Her eyes squeezed shut as her entire body began to spasm. Through her whole orgasm, Hero held her in place with his strong hands and continued to thrust, using her orgasm for his own pleasure.
When she was done, she collapsed onto him, covered in sweat. “I… I can’t… I…”
Hero lifted her up and slid out from under her, and
she collapsed on the bed face down. He got behind her, spreading her legs open. She moaned as he straddled her right leg and pushed inside of her.
Hero held her down with his hands, placing them on the small of her back as he pistoned within her. He could feel himself starting to sweat and could see sweat beading on Speedy’s flawless skin. As his own climax was nearing, he moved his hands up to her neck, pulling her face up so he could kiss her. As her tongue slipped into his mouth, he felt his body release, and the whole day’s worth of sexual tension flowed from his body into hers. He kept pumping into her, determined to fill her up completely. Spurt after spurt entered her, and she moaned with every new sensation of warmth.
He gyrated against her for a few more moments before collapsing on top of her, then rolling to the side. Speedy rolled over onto her side and snuggled up against him, much like the same position they had been in while talking earlier.
“I didn’t forget that I tended to end up sleeping in the nude around you, too,” she whispered to him.
Hero’s fingers traced listlessly up and down her side. “I couldn’t forget that, either.” They lay there like that for a few minutes, letting their breathing and heart rates return to normal while enjoying each other’s touch.
Maybe I won’t need any extra time at the gym after this trip, Hero thought to himself.
“I have a bit of a confession to make,” Speedy said.
“Now’s the time,” Hero said.
“We’ve been apart for a long time. I was hurt by you, and sometimes I needed comfort. Sometimes I just needed snuggles,” she said.
Hero knew that she wouldn’t be confessing anything if it was someone he didn’t know. “When I broke up with you, I never expected to see you again. I’d never ask you to wait for me. Is it Hutch?”
She laughed. “No, not Hutch. I would have, but he’s too intense. Too married to this job. To be honest, I haven’t been with a man since I joined the Resistance, over a year now.”
Maybe Hero was wrong about knowing the person then. “If you’re not seeing anyone now, then I don’t care about your past. Remember what I used to say about the past? No regrets. All I care about is the present.” He pulled her in closer. “Let the future take care of itself, too.”
