Truck Drivin’ Hero Page 22
“That makes five, same count as I got,” Zorflox said.
“Then I guess I have to come to the conclusion that you don’t know how many bullets your gun holds.”
Zorflox chirped, which Hero took as a laughing sound. “Don’t you know that this is a revolver, otherwise known as a six-shooter?”
Hero shook his head. “Apple, grab Sunshine and help her back to the truck. Speedy, can you walk on your own?”
Speedy nodded her head and got to her feet. Apple started toward Sunshine.
“What are you doing? Stop where you are, all of you, or I will shoot!” Sheriff Zorflox cried out. Hero walked toward him. Zorflox’s stance shifted and he aimed at Hero’s head. “You! Stop immediately!”
Hero stopped at arm’s length. He watched as Apple and Speedy both wrapped one of Sunshine’s arms around their necks and assisted her up the road toward Hero’s truck. Zorflox clearly didn’t know whether to aim at the three escaping or the one within striking distance of him.
“You are acting insane, even for a human!” Zorflox said.
“You really should familiarize yourself with any weapon you intend to use, pardner. If you had, you would have realized that the Smith & Wesson 500 only has five chambers,” Hero said. With that, he jumped at Zorflox, delivering a powerful haymaker to his head.
Zorflox, to his credit, didn’t drop the gun. He hit the ground and was obviously dazed, but didn’t hesitate to sight Hero and pull the trigger. As predicted, the gun produced a quiet click rather than a loud bang. He looked at the gun and chirped loudly.
“You’re quite an astute human, Bill Reynolds,” Zorflox said, getting to his feet. He got in a boxing stance, squaring up against Hero’s frame. He had studied some of the great bar fights from Western movies, and he was ready to put those skills to the test. “A worthy opponent.”
“I’m not interested in being your opponent,” Hero said. The human began to circle Zorflox, but the alien matched his movements. “I just want to be left alone. Why didn’t you take the hint last time we fought?”
“You mean when you shot me and left me for dead?” Zorflox asked. He sent a quick left hook to Hero’s face, which landed right on the human's lip. Hero looked a little stunned, and Zorflox smiled.
“You mean when I shot you in the vest?” Hero asked.
Zorflox dropped his guard for a moment. He knew I was wearing a vest, he thought with surprise.
Hero got a quick jab in on his face while the alien was distracted, but Zorflox recovered quickly. “Yes, I knew. Your shirt barely fit, and it came untucked when you put your hands up. But all that doesn’t matter. Because we’re finishing this, now.”
Zorflox kept looking for an opening, but Hero left him none. As with everything else over the past three days, it seemed like the human was just a little more skilled than he was. “You told me you were going to Texas, Bill Reynolds. You lied to me about your destination.”
“I didn’t lie, the buyer changed the destination on us. Now we have to go to Reno to drop off this cargo.” Hero went for a body blow, but the alien blocked it. “I don’t even know how you tracked us.”
“The plasma pistol one of your wives stole from me has a tracker embedded in it,” Zorflox said.
Hero laughed, then gestured to the Mustang behind Zorflox. “Well, if you want it back, it’s right in there.” Zorflox took a quick look, too quick for Hero to take advantage of. The Mustang was completely engulfed in flames. “I won't stop you. I won't stop you from leaving, either. Believe me, I’m just as eager to get my money and start my new life as you are to arrest us.”
Zorflox stopped circling. This whole thing had been a huge misunderstanding. Hero was a criminal, yes, but he was still a good man protecting his family. It had been Zorflox, obsessed with revenge, that had ruined everything. He had read a book before he became with obsessed with the Wild West that perfectly summed up his situation. Now he realized how well it applied to him. He was Captain Ahab and Bill was his white whale.
In this moment of contemplation, Hero delivered a quick kick to Zorflox’s leg. It collapsed underneath him, and Hero punched downward with all the force he could muster. Zorflox fell to the ground, but there was no respite there. Hero was on top of him in an instant, smashing his face with punches. Zorflox put his hands in front of his face, doing everything he could to stop him, but it wasn’t enough…
Now Hero had the upper hand, and he intended to use it. He slammed his fist into Zorflox’s face again and again. This mission would have been so much easier if this asshole alien hadn’t made it his personal fucking mission to ruin Hero’s day.
The gun was next to them on the ground. Hero knew that the gun had no bullets in it, but it would serve another purpose. He reached over with his left hand while his right hand held Zorflox down. The gun was heavy, at least four or five pounds. It would only take one or two blows…
Hero looked over at the truck, and at his girls. They were all three standing outside the driver’s side door. He knew that only Apple could read what he was thinking right now, though.
If I kill him, I’ll be able to go back to my normal life. There will be no trail leading me to the Resistance. My criminal record dies with him.
The thought rang so clearly through Hero’s head that he involuntarily found himself lifting the gun up by the barrel, positioning it over his head. He looked at the alien, cowering underneath him, and then at the girls. He sighed. “Do you want to die, Sheriff?”
The Grey lay motionless. “If it is my time to die, then so be it,” he said.
“Let me put this another way. You can either stop chasing us, or you can die right here.”
The alien didn’t even hesitate. “I will stop chasing you, Mr. Reynolds.”
“I don’t want to hear about my name being on any wanted list, and I don’t want anyone hunting for me in Belize. Forget I ever existed.”
“You have my word as a Sheriff.”
“If I ever see you again, I’ll kill you without hesitation. Is that understood, pardner?”
“I understand.”
Hero kept the gun over his head for a moment more. He wanted to bring it down and end this all so badly, but a dead alien would just lead to more trouble, or so he kept telling himself.
He lowered the gun and threw it to the side, then got up. He walked away from the alien quickly. No telling when local law enforcement might arrive.
“Mr. Reynolds,” called the alien behind him. Hero turned around. The alien was holding the gun, and for a brief moment he wondered if the alien had brought bullets and reloaded it while he had his back turned. That didn’t happen, though. He shoved the gun into the holster he was wearing. “Thank you, pardner.”
Hero didn’t answer him. He just turned and kept walking all the way to the truck.
The three women watched him the whole way. “Get in the truck,” he yelled when he was within shouting distance. Apple helped Sunshine in on her side, but Speedy lingered.
“But… my car…” Speedy sputtered. She was clearly in shock.
“I’ll buy you a new one. I’ll buy you a Corvette. Just get in the damn truck!” Hero said.
“But… But… There’s no song named Corvette Sally!”
Hero stood there, mouth agape. “Get in the truck, now!”
That snapped her out of it. Her eyes focused and she got up into the passenger seat. Apple already had Sunshine in the sleeper and was examining her head.
“Sorry there’s no seat belts back there, kids. I’ll try to make it as short and as bump-free a ride as I can.” He put the pedal to the metal and got out of there. He couldn’t look in his side mirror, as the Sheriff had shot it off, but he was sure that if he could, he’d see him staring at the truck, maybe even waving.

At 10:24 AM, the secret garage door in Bald Mountain opened. Hero backed his truck in. He dropped the trailer and parked in a different area of the garage.
The four occupants of the truck looked like
they had been rode hard and put away wet. All four smelled like a car fire. Sunshine had a cut across her forehead, a black eye, and bruised breasts. Speedy had smoke inhalation and whiplash. Hero had bloody knuckles and a fat lip. And Apple? Well, she had been suffering for hours from a welt where a particularly nasty piece of hail had hit her in the butt.
Sunshine and Speedy were taken to the infirmary right away, while Apple wanted to supervise the unloading and moving of the fusion generator. That just left Hero. He was too tired to complain when they were all separated. When shown to his own private quarters, he nodded and went inside. Despite the fact that he had a story to tell the base, all he wanted to do was sleep. He barely got his clothes off before he fell into bed, falling into a deep sleep.
There has never been a baby that slept as well as Hero did.
Many, many hours later, Hero felt somebody move the covers down and get into the bed with him. He opened one eye, seeing just fine in the dim light provided by a wall fixture. “Good morning, Speedy.” He leaned in and gave her a good-morning kiss. “How’s Sunshine doing?”
“How about you ask her yourself?”
Hero felt someone get in on the other side of the bed. He turned his head. “How are you doing?”
“Fine, thanks,” Sunshine said. “The doctor said to get plenty of rest, but you know how much I listen to doctors’ orders.”
“I know you don’t listen to any orders, from anyone,” Hero said. He leaned in and kissed her as well.
“I listen to some orders, and right now, the Resistance has orders for us.”
His eyes shot open. “You’re kidding.”
“Nope. Our briefing is at 0700, so two hours from now. Your room has a private shower and you need to use it before then.” She sniffed him, then mock gagged.
“It’s a nice big shower, though,” Speedy said. “It should be able to fit us.”
“All of us,” came a voice from the foot of the bed. Hero looked down. There was Apple, naked and looking up at him.
“You’re coming, too?” Hero asked.
“Of course. You said you wanted me on all your missions, right?”
“But I thought you’d be busy with the fusion generator,” he said.
She waved a hand in the air. “They have more scientists here than they know what to do with. But you need me.”
Hero didn’t know how to answer that. Of course he needed Apple. Just like he needed Speedy. Just like he needed Sunshine. He’d never be able to complete a mission without the whole team.
The silence was apparently too long. “Don’t tell me that you’re going to abandon us now. After all we’ve been through?” Sunshine asked with a frown. Speedy bit her lip. Apple crossed her arms and pouted.
Hero came to a decision, finally. “Of course not. I was just thinking about poor Alexandria. She needs a new side mirror at least, and I’d like to perform some preventative maintenance on her before we go. I gotta treat her right, just like I treat all of you right.”
All three women burst into huge smiles. “Of course,” Apple said. “I can help you with all of that. But before that, shower.” Hero followed the three naked women into the shower, eager for the three of them to clean him off.
Hero keyed the mic on his CB radio. “All set, Speedy?”
The brand new 2025 model Mustang revved its engine in front of him. “10-4, good buddy,” came the response over the radio.
“Sunshine?”
A new voice came over the radio. “Locked, cocked, and ready to rock, Hero.”
He hung up the hand mic. “Apple?”
She looked up from her notebook. “Hmm? Oh, yes, Hero. I’m ready for anything.”
Hero smiled. He had originally gone on this mission so that he could save Speedy from herself. But now, he realized, there was only one way to protect her. And protect Sunshine. And protect Apple. And protect all of humanity. He'd have to work with the Resistance until every last alien was kicked off planet Earth.
“Alright, ladies,” he said. “Let’s move out.”
A preview of Truck Drivin’ Hero 2
A few minutes later, Apple finished her shower. She came out wearing only two towels; one for her body and one for her hair. “Do you mind if I use your desk while we wait for the others?”
Hero nodded as if he didn’t care, but watched with interest as she settled herself at his desk, still just wearing the towels. The fact was, Apple staying without changing was more proof that he was the luckiest guy in the world. She was all hot and bothered, but wanted to stay here until two other women arrived so that they could all have sex together. Hero began to get hard just thinking about how fun it was going to be tonight.
“I’ve been working on a new piece of machinery to be attached to Alexandria. I was hoping you could poke holes in my theories later tonight,” Apple said.
“You know I always love to tell an egghead scientist what she got wrong,” he said, positioning himself on the bed so he could see her better. He still had his clothes on, but it was the comfiest place to sit and wait.
“Maybe after that, you could proofread another one of my stories?” she asked, batting her eyelashes at him.
Hero loved to read her stories. Some of what she wrote was downright twisted, and it turned him on to read about her fantasies. Before he could answer in the affirmative, though, he heard a giggle coming from the hallway. “That’ll probably have to wait until later.” There was a hard knock on the door. “Come in.”
The door opened and a busty blonde in a tank top and camo shorts was the first one in the room. She was followed by a petite brunette wearing tiny jean shorts and a lacy camisole, which had gotten dirty from the day’s work. Both girls were smiling as they saw Hero already in bed, even if he did still have his clothes on.
“The party’s all here!” Apple said. She said it often, and it was clear that it had become her favorite joke. It was a bit of a play on words. Speedy often compared them to a party from the popular video game series Final Fantasy, but they were also about to have a real sexy party.
“Yep, we made it back,” Speedy said.
“How was the mission?” Hero asked.
“A total cake walk, again.” Sunshine said, sounding maybe a little bit frustrated. “We might have made a little extra work for you, though. Speedy put a dent in the pickup truck that we took when she hit it with a 2x4.”
“It’s not my fault! That wood was heavy!” Speedy whined.
Hero shrugged. “It’s kind of what a pickup truck like that is made for. Not like your Mustang.”
Speedy frowned. She was protective of her new Mustang, after her last one had burst into flames during the mission that brought them to Boulder. Hero knew that she hated having to drive other vehicles, but it was necessary ever since they had painted it like a police car. Besides, it’d be pretty hard to load a bunch of wood up in the back of a two-door car.
“I’d never smack my baby with a hunk of wood,” she said.
“Me neither, unless she asked for it,” Hero said.
Apple piped up. “Oooh, oooh, can we try that?”
“I don’t have a piece of wood here with me, but I tell you what. You make me a paddle and I’ll try it out on you.”
Apple nodded as if she were given a serious task. She turned the page in her notebook and began to draw. Sunshine shook her head and crossed the room to him. “I missed you today,” she said.
“I missed you too. Apple’s learning quick, but the day goes much faster when I have all three of you helping me out,” Hero said.
Sunshine smiled. “How about me and Speedy wash off and then we can all really help you out.” The emphasis on the last three words was super obvious, but just to be sure he understood her, she leaned in and kissed him deeply. His hands went all over her body before she tore herself away. “You’re welcome to join us.”
“I’m not sure that would be fair. Apple had to wait,” Hero said.
“I’m not sure I can wait. Sunshine and I wil
l have to start without you in the shower,” Speedy said. Despite the “rules” that none of them fuck Hero without permission, Speedy and Sunshine had a special exception with each other, since they were the original couple. She came up behind Sunshine and pulled Sunshine’s tank top off, releasing those beautiful breasts of hers. “I’ve been checking you out all day.”
“Apple can come, too,” Sunshine said. “What do you say, Apple?”
“I’m definitely down for another shower,” Apple said. She took her towel off her body and let it fall to the floor, then walked to Sunshine. Sunshine ran her nails up and down Apple’s sexy sides as Apple bent down a little to kiss her, a closed mouth kiss. Their breasts pressed together as Sunshine’s experienced mouth opened, giving the innocent Apple a much deeper kiss. Apple went along with it, definitely getting better at this bisexual thing every day. She fumbled with Sunshine’s camo shorts, finally slipping them down.
“So how about it, Hero?” Speedy asked from behind Sunshine. “Is it just going to be us three women in the shower, or are you going to join us?”
Hero knew that there was no way he could resist this. If not for these ladies and their insatiable libidos, he might have been tempted to leave this base weeks ago. “I’ll turn on the water,” he said. Speedy smiled and jumped a little, clapping her hands like she always did when she got excited. Hero left the three women kissing and went to turn on the water. By the time he had it running, all three women were entering the bathroom.
Speedy stood next to him, and he leaned in and finally got a kiss from her. His fingers found the bottom of her camisole and he lifted, taking it off before resuming his kiss. Speedy returned the favor, taking his shirt off while Sunshine worked Speedy’s jean shorts off.
“Let me help you out of those clothes,” Apple said. She dropped to her knees in front of him, unbuttoning his pants and pulling them down...
